• Sunday, Dec. 4: The Christmas Program during the church service. There will be practice during Learning Centers this day too!

We will be having everyone read their parts this year. Each class will have lines to do like we have done the past couple of years. The kids need to be familiar with their lines, but don’t need to memorize them. The Learning Center teachers will assign the parts to their individual classes. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILDREN ARE COMING TO LEARNING CENTERS EACH WEEK AND ON TIME – THIS IS WHEN THEY WILL GET AND PRACTICE THEIR SPEAKING PARTS!!  Gina is practicing the songs with the children mainly during Discovery Club time, but may need some Learning Center time also.  She has made CDs that have the songs so everyone can be practicing at home as well.  If you have not received one, make sure you get one from Gina this Sunday.

I will send a separate email with costume information for each class.  Be looking for that email also!

A word about costumes:

Here is information about the Christmas Program costume needs for each Sunday School class.

• Preschool (Susan Elliott’s and Kathy William’s class):  Holy Land clothes
• Pre-K / K (Justin and Nikki Lanning’s class):  Holy Land clothes
• 1st and 2nd (Lisa Johnson’s and Stephanie Shepherd’s class): BOYS: Shepherd, carry sheep stuffed animals if have one  GIRLS: Angels
• 3rd, 4th (Keith Baldridge’s and Deanne Smith’s Class):  Depends on what part they have, either Wise Man or Holy Land clothes
• 5th-6th (Bill Greer’s Class):  Holy Land clothes

If you need help with how to create/design your child’s costume, please let Betsy Kinder  Lonbet50@comcast.net  know.  She has agreed to be the resource that parents can contact for costume help.  Please do not stress about this – there are ways to make all of these costumes with clothes and cloth that you probably already have or we may have something from last year.  Thank you!

HOLY LAND CLOTHES:  Use bathrobes, sandals, sheets, long t-shirts with rope belts, bare feet, simple head coverings.  Use your imagination!

Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl, and the child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Print out the appropriate boy/girl label by downloading the artwork (Click HERE for your label). Mark the correct age category on the label, and tape the label to the top of your box.

FILL WITH GIFTS

Please donate $7 or more for each shoe box you prepare to help cover shipping and other project costs. Include your check or cash (make your check out to Christ Fellowship) and place it in an envelope on top of the gift items inside your box. If you or your family are preparing more than one shoe box, you can make one combined donation.

DROP OFF

Place a rubber band around each closed shoe box and drop off at Christ Fellowship, deadline is Sunday, November 13.

Below is the information regarding Christ Fellowship’s 2011-2012 women’s studies! We are excited about these opportunities to be God’s Word and what He is going to show us this year!

John

This fall, Judy Gates will be leading an inductive Bible study through the book of John. Information on study times and locations are as follows:

• Tuesday 9:15 a.m. @ Jamie Hulker’s home. Starts back September 6.
• Thursday 6:15 a.m. @ Cracker Barrel, I-65 & Harding Place. Starts back September 8.
• Thursday 9:30 a.m. @ Pat Smith’s home. Starts back September 8.

Cost and information on materials:

Inductive Bible study worksheets: As we have done with past inductive studies, the text of John has been formatted for notetaking and is available. Options to get materials are:

1. Download the PDF from the church website and print at home as needed.  You can download the material here.
2. Purchase a copy of the worksheets, double-sided and hole-punched from the church for $15. This will cover the entire year of the study. See Stephanie for copies!

Weekly Study Worksheets: Instead of purchasing a workbook this year, Judy will be preparing weekly worksheets for class. These will be available on the Christ Fellowship website soon, and we’ll let you know as soon as they are online and available to download and print!
